Nicholas Lundgren of Virginia Beach, Virginia, began his career in community service in 2014. Then aged seven, with the support of his parents, he launched a collection drive for dental hygiene products, partnering with local dental and orthodontic practices to collect toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and other items to benefit communities in Ethiopia without reliable access to such resources. Cultivating this dedication to service, Nicholas spent 12 years in Boy Scouts, ultimately earning the rank of Eagle Scout and being inducted into the Order of the Arrow. During these years, Nicholas served in numerous leadership roles, directed large-scale food drives, and led trainings and classes that passed his leadership skills onto his fellow Scouts.

Nicholas was appointed by the Virginia Beach City Council in 2023 to serve on the Human Rights Commission, where he focused on drug control policy and substance abuse recovery, ultimately producing a documentary on the rise in overdose rates among adolescents across Hampton Roads. Nicholas has worked with numerous community groups and charitable organizations over the years and is now committing his skills, knowledge, and passion for the success of others to the NLS Foundation, where he hopes to improve the daily lives of those around him and help build a more positive society. Nicholas is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations and Global Policy at Old Dominion University. In his free time, Nicholas enjoys spending time with friends and family, working on his Jeep, going on spontaneous roadtrips, and hiking.
